Aftershave nourishing balm
DIFFICULTY
INGREDIENTS:

- 40g Distilled water

- 4g Aloe vera gel

- 2g Vegetable glycerin

- 0.5g Xanthan gum

- 3g Jojoba oil

- 5g Shea butter

4g Emulsifier Cetearyl olivate, Sorbitan olivate (Olivem 1000)

- 0.5g Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

- 0.5g Panthenol

- 1.5g Cosmetic alcohol

- 1g Menthol crystals

- 4 drops Peppermint essential oil

- 19 drops Natural preservative

- Lactic or citric acid (if necessary)

This recipe is to create a cool and fresh aftershave nourishing balm. It was tested and posted by Stefano!

Preparation

Place the water in a container and sprinkle the xanthan gum over it, mix well, and let it sit for a few minutes.

Then add the glycerin and aloe vera gel and mix well.

Place both containers in a double boiler.

In another container, combine the oil, butter, and emulsifier, mix, and place it in a double boiler.

When both mixtures reach approximately 70°C (about 158°F), remove them from the heat, and slowly pour the water mixture into the oil mixture while stirring well, using a stick blender if necessary.

While the balm cools down, dissolve the menthol in cosmetic alcohol.

Add the alcohol, tocopherol, panthenol, peppermint essential oil, and preservative to the cooled mixture and mix well.

Measure the pH, which should be 5.5, and if necessary, add lactic or citric acid.

How to use

This balm is very useful to apply after shaving. It leaves the skin feeling fresh and soft.
