Hydrolates and aromatic waters: what they are and how to use them

Hydrosols are aromatic waters obtained from the steam distillation of flowers, leaves and other parts of plants. At the end of the distillation process, two products are obtained: the essential oil and the aromatic water or hydrosol. The latter, being water soluble, will float on the essential oil, which is instead fat soluble. They are very delicate and can be used pure directly on the skin and scalp.

In fact, it will be enough to spray the hydrosol on the cleansed skin of the face and then dab it lightly with your fingers to prepare the skin to receive the next steps of the beauty routine or you can also apply them to damp hair, after washing, as a last acid rinse.
