Some of you have "tasted" a small piece of it and were enthusiastic about it, others have asked us for more information on the soap cake that we created for the inauguration of the new website www.lasaponaria.it.

Given the great curiosity aroused, we decided to share the recipe with you!

In this recipe we will tell you step by step how to make a soap cake, an original idea as a gift to celebrate your anniversaries with relatives and friends instead of the classic dessert!

Our recipe for the "vegan lemon cream, almonds and coffee" cake

Preparation

In order to make this cake you will need to make two different types of soap according to the recipe.

Simultaneously melt the soda required for the two recipes and prepare all the necessary ingredients on the work bench.

Also choose the mold for your cake. In our case we used a cylindrical food-grade plastic container, but the silicone molds that are normally used to make sweets are fine.

For the preparation we will have to start pouring the first layer up to the bottom of the cake, the brown base layer.

So begin the processing of the first part of the soap, adding the essential oil and mix until well into the "trace" phase. Pour about 1/3 of the soap you have prepared into the mold and sprinkle the surface of the first layer of soap with almond powder which will give the cake the grain effect.

At this point, add the coloring to the mixture. In our case we added annatto for the yellow and vitamin E extract as a nutrient to give the soap antioxidant properties as well as enhance the color effect. Pour the second layer of soap into the mold.

At this point, while the soap we poured into the mold begins to take consistency, start preparing the soap that will make up our "coffee base".

We have chosen to use a "harder" soap as a base than the previous one and give it a scrub effect.

Proceed with the normal processing of the soap and then add the coffee powder at the time of the "trace" phase (it gives the soap the brown color and helps eliminate bad smells), cocoa powder, almond powder and ground grape seeds according to your tastes.

Once the process is complete, pour this last layer of soap into the mold. Cover everything and let it rest.

After about a week you can "take out" your cake and decorate it as you like!

(remember that soap cakes cannot be "eaten" fresh ... but only after a month !!!)

How to use

This cake is suitable for any type of occasion but your imagination can let loose in a thousand and more recipes !!!

You can make different types of desserts, mint and chocolate sweets or cakes decorated with pink creams to celebrate the birth of a girl, or ...
