Rice Bran Oil

What is it?

Rice bran oil is a vegetable oil obtained from the outer layer (bran) of the rice grain (Oryza sativa). It is rich in essential fatty acids, phytosterols, tocopherols (vitamin E), and oryzanol, a natural antioxidant complex that makes it particularly valuable in skincare and haircare.

What does it do in cosmetics?

Rice bran oil is appreciated for its emollient, antioxidant, and soothing properties, and is well tolerated even by sensitive skin.

Emollient and nourishing: softens the skin and improves elasticity, without leaving a greasy residue.

Antioxidant: thanks to vitamin E and gamma-oryzanol, it protects the skin from oxidative stress and free radicals, helping to prevent premature aging.

Soothing: ideal for sensitive or irritated skin, helping to reduce redness and discomfort.

Light and silky: absorbs quickly, leaving the skin soft and velvety.

It is commonly used in natural formulations such as face and body creams, massage oils, gentle cleansers, sunscreens, and hair care products, where it provides nourishment without weighing down.

Fun fact

Rice bran oil is loved for its versatility and dry-touch finish. It is also one of the best oils for eye contour care, thanks to its light and delicate texture.
