Panthenol

Panthenol is the reduced alcohol form of vitamin B5. In the skin it is transformed into pantothenic acid, often called "the beauty vitamin". It promotes better skin moisture as it penetrates the deeper layers of the skin and fixes the water there. Dry and sensitive skin is therefore kept healthy, beautiful and supple for longer. It promotes the energy metabolism of skin cells and their optimal nutrition, and stimulates their division. It also exerts a calming and curative action, and is therefore an aid in case of sunstroke and severe skin rashes. For hair, panthenol has a particular action: with its ability to fix water, pantothenic acid has a particularly beneficial effect on damaged, brittle and dry hair. It is mainly used in after-sun products and in general in all face and body products at a concentration ranging from approximately 0.5 to 3%.
