Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia) is an orchid native to Mexico. Its fruits, commonly called pods, produce the spice known as vanilla. It is native to the humid tropical forests of the Mexican east coast where it lives in the undergrowth. It is a flexible and not very branched plant, which develops by growth of the shoot and forms long terminals that climb to the assault of their support for more than ten meters.

Vanilla has excellent aromatherapy characteristics: it is relaxing, antidepressant, rebalancing, calming, therefore excellent for fighting stress and insomnia.

In cosmetics it can be found in several forms:
-Essential oil (Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Oil), with an orange-brown color and a characteristic sweet smell, used for perfuming.
-Aqueous enzymatic extract (Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Vanilla planifolia Fruit Water).Vanilla extract has strong nourishing and softening properties, gives the skin softness and is therefore particularly suitable for dry and mature skin.
In addition, the hair benefits from the vanilla extract, in fact it becomes shinier, silky, soft and split ends compact.

Vanilla has excellent antioxidant properties, fights free radicals. For the skin it becomes a strongly regenerating ingredient, it is used in particular in cosmetics in body products.

It is also included as an ingredient in some of our products in the form of Vanilla Active Water.
