Cetylstearyl alcohol is an emulsifier of natural origin, it is a mixture of cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol.

It appears as a white solid in granules or flakes and with a waxy consistency.

It is frequently used in cosmetics thanks to its multiple functions: it manages, for example, to give formulated products viscosity without weighing them down and improves their smoothness and spreadability on the skin. It also acts as a good emulsifier.

Often the word Alcohol leads to confusion with denatured alcohol, in reality it is completely different: in fact, it acts in the opposite way to alcohol, since cetearyl alcohol is emollient and has no degreasing function.

It is a completely safe ingredient, used in most of our cosmetics.

In fluid emulsions it is used in percentages between 1 and 2%, in more viscous emulsions it can even reach 5%.
